THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 16, 2013) – The Maritime women's lacrosse team (1-2) will travel to play their first in-conference game at St. Joseph's College (3-2), in Patchogue N.Y. on Saturday.  The opening draw is scheduled for 12 noon. 
 
Inside The Sound Shootout Series With St. Joseph's College
            This matchup is the second time these two teams play each other after the inception of the St. Joseph's team in 2012.  The Eagles currently lead the series with a 1-0 lead.
 
Last Time The Two Teams Met
            Then-freshman Charlotte Acklin (Lewes, Del./West Broward (Fla.)) (Lewes, Del./West Broward) had a team-high four draw controls while Senior Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) was Maritime's leading scorer with five goals and one assist. Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Rocco recorded 10 saves in the losing effort.
 
        St. Joseph's was led by Lisa Terry (Manorville, N.Y.), who scored seven goals. Senior Jackie Myers recorded two goals and two assists. Terry and Caitlin Webber (Eastport, N.Y.) both had four groundballs, apiece, while Webber led all players with eight draw controls. Between the pipes, Erin O'Connor (Nesconset, N.Y.) got the start and made two saves before being replaced at halftime by Colleen Fitzimons (Commack, N.Y.), who made one save to preserve O'Connor's win.
 
Scouting The Saint Joseph's Eagles
            St. Joseph's College enters Saturday's game with a 3-2 record under 2^nd year coach Robert Vlahakis. The Eagles are coming off a 16-10 loss to Dickenson on Friday night.  However, this season their defensive efforts have been strong with senior goalkeeper Erin O'Connor having 45 saves on goal and team causing a total of 45 turnovers lead by junior Karalyn Tetlman with nine.
