BRONX, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2013) – The Maritime men's cross country team came in fourth place out of 10 teams at the Skyline Conference Championships Meet on Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park, while the women finished in seventh place at the event. Three runners earned spots on the All-Skyline Conference team, as sophomore
Cameron Coneys (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) and freshman
Kevin Sun (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) for the men and senior
Jackie Bellisari (Albertson, N.Y./Holy Trinity) (Albertson, N.Y./Holy Trinity) for the women all earned First Team accolades.
The women's 5K race was the first of the day and Bellisari finished in seventh place out of 98 runners with a time of 20:53.28. Senior
Courtney Chambliss (Palmdale, Calif./Quartz Hill) (Palmdale, Calif./Quartz Hill) was second on the Privateers with a 40th place finish (31 for points' purposes) in 24:01.47, while junior
Ann Boston (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) finished in 55th (42 points) in 25:14.56. The Maritime scoring was rounded out by senior
Theresa D'Amore (Blooming Grove, N.Y./Washingtonville) (Blooming Grove, N.Y./Washingtonville) (57th in 25:24.34) for 44 points and sophomore
Elizabeth Higley (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) (62nd in 25:58.80) for 47 points.
On the men's side, Coneys came in second place overall in the men's 8K race out of 83 runners with a time of 27:08.44, narrowly missing out on the individual championship by just over three seconds. Sun was the seventh competitor to finish, crossing the finish line in 29:27.59. Junior
