        BRONX, N.Y. (April 5, 2012) – The Maritime baseball team defeated Bronx-rival Lehman on the road, 16-6, Wednesday night, returning the favor to the Lightning, who won the game at Reinhart Field earlier in the season by the score of 14-5. The Privateers improve to 12-10 on the season with the victory, while Lehman falls to 7-8.
 
        Senior Jonathan Proscia (Franklin Square, N.Y./Holy Trinity) (Franklin Square, N.Y./Holy Trinity) led Maritime with a game-high four RBIs and two runs on a 3-for-6 night. Freshman Joseph Longo (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./St. John Baptist) had a game-high four hits as he was 4-for-7 with an RBI and two runs. Sophomore Kurt Niemeyer (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior) (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior) earned the win to move to 1-2 on the season after pitching five innings and allowing one run on five hits with seven strikeouts.
 
        Maritime returns to action next week, when the makeup against Skyline opponent Mount St. Mary is played on Tuesday night, April 10, up at the Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, N.Y. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 5 p.m.
