THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 18, 2012) – The Maritime baseball team defeated non-conference opponent City College, 12-5, Tuesday night at Reinhart Field. The win improves the Privateers to 16-13 on the season, which continues the team's highest win-total over the past six seasons and highest under head coach 
Gene Steinbach.
	 
	        Junior 
Joey Semler (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) (Kirkland, Wash./Edmonds C.C.) led the Privateers with a perfect night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and one run scored. Freshman 
Paul Pfundstein (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) earned the victory in relief of sophomore starter 
Kurt Niemeyer (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior) (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet Senior). Niemeyer pitched four innings of two-run, three hit ball with nine strikeouts before Pfundstein came in in the fifth and lasted 2.3 innings giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits with two strikeouts. He moves to 1-1 on the season with the win.
	 
	        The Privateers have made some changes to their schedule for the upcoming weekend. Due to the potential of inclement weather, Maritime's home Skyline doubleheader against Old Westbury that was scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Friday with a 4 p.m. first pitch of the nine-inning opening game at Reinhart Field. In between friday's games, the Privateers will have a Senior Day ceremony. Sunday's non-conference doubleheader against St. Joseph's of Brooklyn has been moved to Saturday, also at Reinhart Field, with a 10 a.m. start for the two, seven-inning games. Log on to
