Privateers Drop Season Opener To Wesleyan Friday Night

        MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (Nov. 16, 2012) – The Maritime basketball team lost its season-opening game to Wesleyan University on Friday on the first night of action at the Herb Kenny Tip Off Tournament at the Cardinal's Silloway Gym.
 
        Senior transfer Ron Bethea (Harlem, N.Y./Humanities Prep.) (Harlem, N.Y./Humanities Prep.) led the Privateers with 16 points and was the game's third-leading scorer. He also brought down a team-high five rebounds. For Wesleyan, senior Derick Beresford led all players with 18 points, while his classmate Mike Callaghan recorded a double-double with 17 points and a game-high ten rebounds.
 
        Maritime is back in action on Saturday, when they will play the Anna Maria AMCATs at 1 p.m. in the tournament's consolation game. Live stats can be accessed by clicking here.
