Men’s Soccer Ends Season With 1-0 Loss To Mount St. Mary In Skyline Quarterfinals

        NEWBURGH, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2012) – The #6-seed Maritime men's soccer team lost on the road at #3-seed Mount St. Mary in the Skyline Conference Tournament Quarterfinals by the score of 1-0 at the Knights' Synthetic Turf Field on Saturday.
 
        The only goal of the game came in the 18th minute, when Mount freshman Michael Ennis found the back of the net off a pass by classmate Alex Tolman. The Knights outshot Maritime, 9-2 in the opening half and Privateer freshman keeper Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y./Northport) (Northport, N.Y./Northport) made four saves to keep the game close into halftime.
 
        Maritime came out much stronger in the second half, outshooting MSMC 7-6 in the stanza, but Mount senior goalie Matt Darling made three saves to preserve the shutout.
 
        Weber ended the game with seven saves in the losing effort for the Privateers. The defeat ends the Privateers' season with a record of 8-12-1, while MSMC will move on to face #2-seed Sage next week in the semifinals with a record of 10-7-1.
