Three Players Earn ECFC Weekly Honors On Four Occasions So Far This Year

Privateer Breakdown
The Maritime football team enters Saturday's contest with a 2-3 record under eighth-year head coach
Clayton Kendrick-Holmes, including a 1-1 mark in ECFC action. The Privateers opened the season with a 20-14 home win over rival Mass. Maritime on Sept. 7, but lost the next three games – a 19-14 loss on the road to Kings Point on Sept. 15, a 35-16 defeat up at Castleton St. on Sept. 22 and a 21-14 loss defeat to William Paterson on Sept. 29. The squad rebounded with a 33-7 victory over Becker College last Saturday, Oct. 6. Maritime has averaged 305.2 yards of offense per game and scored 14 touchdowns, while giving up an average of 328.0 yards, 13 TDs and two field goals.
The team's rushing leader is junior quarterback

Duke Alvora (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) rank second and third on the team with 43 and 37 tackles, respectively. Both players also have forced one fumble, apiece. Lasher leads the squad with six tackles for losses of a combined 13 yards.
The punting duties have landed on Alvora this season, who has had some great punts the first five weeks. He has amassed 735 yards on 17 punts for an average of 43.2 yards per punt. His longest of the year came in Week Two on a 76-yard punt that went back for a touchback. He has four punts of 50 or more yards, has landed six inside the opponents' 20-yard line and had two touchbacks. The kickoffs/field goals have been taken by freshman

A Closer Look At The National Rankings
As a team, the Privateers rank in the Top 25 among all NCAA Division III teams in four categories, including being ranked fifth in net punting, with a net average of 37.71 yards per game, as well as tackles for losses allowed (3.00 per game). Maritime ranks 10th in sacks allowed (.60 per game) and 11th in fewest penalties (4.20 per game).
Individually,
Keith Barnes (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) ranks sixth in the nation in total tackles with 13.20 per game, while his 7.80 solo tackles per game ranks ninth.
On the other side, Anna Maria is in the Top 25 in the nation in five categories: third in interceptions thrown (one) and turnovers lost (three), 18th with 24.40 yards on first downs per game, 19th just two fumbles lost per game and 23rd in the country in passing defense, allowing just 143.20 passing yards per game.
Individually, sophomore Keagan Gorman is 16th in the country with 2.00 tackles for loss per game, while junior Jordan Koehler is 22nd with 6.80 solo tackles per game. On offense, senior wide receiver Domenique Concepcion ranks 23rd in the nation with 104.00 receiving yards per game and classmate Jamal Mitchell is 25th with 1.00 field goals per game.

The Privateers defeated the AMCATs 34-13 at Reinhart Field during the 2011 season. Then- junior
Thomas Davis (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) scored two rushing touchdowns on the day to lead Maritime to the victory, including the first of the game on a 16 yard run with 10 seconds to go in the first quarter. Davis ended the day with 94 yards on the ground.

Scouting The Anna Maria AMCATs
The AMCATs enter Saturday's game with a 1-4 record under first-year head coach Vince Sinagra, including an 0-2 mark in ECFC action. They lost their first game to Worcester St. on the road, 56-10, but bounced back with a 34-14 victory at home against Maine Maritime. Since then it has been three straight losses against Husson in non-conference action, 28-22, on the road, at Gallaudet, 52-24, and at Mount Ida last week, 48-35. Anna Maria has compiled 431.20 yards of offense per game and scored 16 with five field goals, while giving up 456.80 yards per game, 28 touchdowns and one field goal.
Senior quarterback Santino Simone leads the offense, as he is 94-for-182 on completions for 1,205 yards with five touchdowns and one interception. He also has 271 yards on the ground with three TDs. Junior Robert Small is the team's rushing leader with 561 yards and six scores. Senior Dom Concepcion leads the team with 520 receiving yards on 37 catches and has hauled in three touchdown passes.
On defense, junior Jordan Koehler has a team-high 49 tackles (34 solo and 15 assisted), including 3.5 for losses of eight yards and one forced fumble. Sophomore Kevin Card is right behind with 46 tackles (32 solo and 14 assisted) with eight for combined losses of 25 yards, including two sacks.
Senior kicker Jamal Mitchell is 5-for-6 in field goals and a perfect 14-for-14 in extra points. The punting duties are handled by senior Kyle Peterson, who has amassed 1,080 yards on 30 punts for an average of 36.0 yards per punt. He has a long of 51 yards and landed eight within the opponents' 20-yard line and three touchbacks. Freshman Chris Bettano is the team's leading returner, bringing back 10 kicks for 221 yards, including a season-long of 43 yards.
