Basketball Game Day: Privateers Look To Get Back On The Win Column On The Road Against Purchase Tonight

        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Jan. 9, 2012) – The Maritime men's basketball team will travel to Purchase, N.Y., to face the Panthers in a Skyline Conference matchup Monday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Purchase Gymnasium.
 
Inside The Series
        The teams are even, having split the series at four games apiece over the course of the last four seasons. The Purchase Panthers took both games during the 2010-11 season with a road win by the score of 90-72, and a nail-biting, 76-74 victory at home.

        Senior Quamel Lyerly (Inwood, N.Y./Lawrence) scored 23 points and registered seven rebounds in that loss at Purchase, while then-junior Mike McSloy (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) contributed 19 points in the losing effort. The Panthers, who overcame an eight-point second half deficit for the victory, were led by senior Marvin Billups who had a game-high 33 points on 11-for-18 shooting from the field and 11-for-13 from the free-throw line.
