THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Jan. 17, 2012) – The Maritime men's basketball team returns to the court tonight after a tough 101-73 loss to Mount Saint Mary on Saturday to face another Skyline Conference opponent, The Sage Colleges Gators. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Gators' Kahl Center.
 
Inside The Series
        This will be the second meeting between the two schools this season. Sage won the game played back on Nov. 29 at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium by the score of 76-64. Grad student Sam Porte (Harlem, N.Y./H.S. for Math, Science & Engineering) (Harlem, N.Y./Math, Sci. & Engin.) recorded a double-double for the Privateers that night with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while senior Mike McSloy (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) led Maritime with 18 points. For the Gators, Dalton Austin-Michaud led all players with 22 points and pulled down six boards, while his twin-brother Ian nearly recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.
 
        Sage holds the overall lead in the series, 3-2. The Privateers won the first two meetings during the 2009-10 season, but the Gators have won the last three contests.
