Privateers Fall To Skyline Opponent Mount Saint Mary Saturday

        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Jan. 14, 2012) - The Maritime men's basketball team lost on the road to Mount Saint Mary Saturday afternoon at the Blue Knights' Kaplan Center up in Newburgh, N.Y. The defeat drops the Privateers' record to 2-12 overall on the season (2-5 Skyline), while MSMC improves to 10-4 (5-2 Skyline).

        Grad. student Sam Porte (Harlem, N.Y./H.S. for Math, Science & Engineering) (Harlem, N.Y./Math, Sci. & Engin.) led all players in the game with 20 points, while senior Mike McSloy (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) added 19 points and junior Hugh Byrd (Pequannock, N.J./DePaul Catholic) (Newfoundland, N.J./DePaul Catholic) chipped in with 11. Porte also grabbed down a team-high seven rebounds.

        The Blue Knights saw seven players score in double figures and were led by Joe Stabach, who scored a team-high 18 points.

        Maritime returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 17, when the Privateers travel to take on Sage up in Albany, N.Y. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
