THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 5, 2011) – On Monday, the Skyline Conference awarded junior Catherine Brady (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) for her performance during last week in the Privateers' games against Ramapo and Bard with a spot on the women's lacrosse honor roll.
The midfielder tri-captain tallied a team-high seven goals for the week including an impressive game-high five goals in the loss against Bard on Saturday. Brady accompanied her scores, by controlling 10 draws, grabbing five groundballs and forcing one turnover. The junior now ranks fourth in the conference for draw controls per game (3.22) and free-position goals per game (0.78). Sophomore goalie Courtney Marietta (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) also ranks among the Skyline's best, as she is fourth for saves per game (9.56).
Today, the Maritime women's lacrosse team will host Skyline Conference foe Kean University at Reinhart Field. First draw against the Cougars is set for at 7 p.m.
Inside The Series
This will be the fourth meeting between these squads. Kean holds the edge in the series, as they have defeated Maritime in their three previous contests. In their last match, the Privateers weren't able to stop Kean's offense, as they dropped the game, 19-4, at the Cougars' Alumni Stadium on April 14, 2010.
