THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 8, 2011) – The Maritime baseball team opens its 2011 season in a non-conference matchup against Baruch College tonight. The first pitch is set to be thrown at 6:30 p.m. at Reinhart Field. Head coach Eugene Steinbach returns for his second season with the team. The Privateers have 10 players back from last year's squad, including All-Skyline Conference outfielder Jonathan Proscia (Franklin Square, N.Y./Holy Trinity). 
Inside The Series
             This will be the fourth time these teams will meet since the 2005 season. The game today marks the second straight season Maritime has played Baruch after not competing against the Bearcats since 2005. On March 10, 2010, the teams met at Reinhart Field where Baruch came out on top with a 9-6 victory over the Privateers. 
            The last time the Privateers won against the Bearcats was on April 12, 2005, when they defeated Baruch, 8-4, in Throggs Neck, N.Y.
