Game Day: Privateers Travel To Old Westbury For Final Away Game Of Season

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Feb. 16, 2011) – The Maritime men's basketball team returns to action tonight as they travel to Old Westbury, N.Y., to face Skyline Conference rival Old Westbury. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Panthers Pavilion.

Inside The Series

             This will be the second and final time these two teams meet this season. In the first encounter, the Panthers took home the win from the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium as the defeated the Privateers, 65-57, back on Jan. 16, 2011.

            During the 2009-10 season, the teams met three times. They split the regular season series, each winning their home contest. On Dec. 1, 2009, the Panthers defeated the Privateers, 71-68, at their home arena. Maritime took the result on Jan. 21, 2010, as they defeated Old Westbury, 73-68, in Riesenberg. The teams met a third time during the Skyline Conference Tournament semifinals, where the Panthers advanced to the championship game by defeating the Privateers, 61-46, on Feb. 26, 2010.
