            PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (Feb. 10, 2011) – The Maritime men's basketball team lost on the road to Skyline opponent St. Joseph's, 88-73, Thursday night at the Golden Eagles' Danzi Athletic Center. The defeat drops the Privateers to 8-14 overall (6-11 Skyline), while St. Joe's improves to 18-3 (14-2 Skyline).

            Senior Quamel Lyerly (Inwood, N.Y./Lawrence) led the way for Maritime with 26 points and six rebounds, while junior Mike McSloy (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) contributed 16 points and senior Paul Suarino (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) scored 12. Junior Sam Porte (Harlem, N.Y./H.S. for Math, Science & Engineering) brought down a game-high eight rebounds in the losing effort.

            Chris Jimenez scored a game-high 30 points to lead St. Joseph's, as all five starters scored in double figures. The Golden Eagles only subbed in one player the entire game. Trey Black registered 13 points, seven boards and eight assists on the night.

            Maritime returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 12, when the squad plays host to Farmingdale State. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
