THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 20, 2011) – The Maritime men's and women's soccer teams are both in action today against Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent, while the volleyball team will be at John Jay in Manhattan for a match that is slated to start at 6 p.m. The women's soccer team is away against the Dolphins beginning at 4 p.m. at Fleming Field in Yonkers, N.Y. The men are home at Reinhart Field beginning at 7 p.m.
Inside The Volleyball Series With John Jay
The Privateers have dropped their previous four meetings with the Bloodhounds dating back to 2006. In 2010, John Jay won in straight sets by the scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-15. Then-sophomore
Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) led Maritime with three kills and a match-high nine digs.

Inside The Women's Soccer Series With Mount Saint Vincent
The two teams have met once a year since 2005 when the Maritime women's soccer program started. Mount Saint Vincent holds the edge in the series with four wins, one loss and a tie. During the 2010 season, the Privateers were narrowly beat, 1-0, on an 80th minute goal for the Dolphins. In the previous meeting in the 2009 season, Maritime won by the score of 9-0.

Inside The Men's Soccer Series With Purchase
The Maritime men hold a 5-0 record in the last five meetings with Mount Saint Vincent. The two teams did not meet in 2009, but during the 2010 season, the Privateers took home a 4-0 victory from Gaelic Park on the campus of Manhattan College. Then-junior
Jason Tursi (Farmingdale, N.Y./Plainedge) (Farmingdale, N.Y./Plainedge) recorded two goals on the night to lead Maritime.
