Men’s Soccer Earns First Victory Of 2010 With 3-1 Win Over CCNY

            NEW YORK (Sept. 12, 2010) – The Maritime men's soccer team defeated the City College of New York, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Field #10 on Randall's Island. The win improved the Privateers record to 1-3, while the Beavers fall to 0-4 with the loss.

 

            Maritime got goals from freshmen James Cole (Northville, N.Y./Northville) (Northville, N.Y./Northville) and David Sparozic (Carmel, N.Y./Mahopac). Junior Tom Federico (Islip, N.Y./Islip) (Islip, N.Y./Islip) added an insurance goal when he found the back of the net on a penalty kick.

 

            The Privateers return to action on Friday, Sept. 17, when they host the College of Staten Island in their first home game of the 2010 season. Kickoff against the Dolphins is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
