Davenport Named To Skyline Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 6, 2010) – Skyline Conference commissioner Tracy King announced on Monday that Maritime junior Jill Davenport (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) (Miller Place, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline women's lacrosse weekly honor roll for her efforts in the Privateers' road loss at Centenary College on Saturday.

 

Davenport scored three goals and added one assist in the loss that dropped Maritime's record to 1-4 on the season. The junior attacker also picked up three draw controls in the contest. Her eight points so far in 2010 – seven goals, one assist – ranks her fourth on the squad.

As a team, the Privateers currently rank fourth in the Skyline with 19.80 ground balls per game. Sophomore Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) (Rocky Point, N.Y.) is the conference's second best draw controller, averaging 3.60 per game. Senior Heather Christiansen (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) (Baldwin, N.Y.) is tied for seventh with 3.40 goals per game, while classmate and tri-captain Meagan Golden (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) (Point Pleasant, N.J.) is fifth in the conference with 7.80 saves per game.

 

Maritime returns to action today, April 6, when they travel to Mahwah, N.J. to take on Skyline-opponent Ramapo College (5-2, 1-0 Skyline) at 4 p.m. at the Roadrunners' Lacrosse Complex.
