THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 21, 2010) – Maritime junior Jill Davenport (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) (Miller Place, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference weekly honor roll on Monday for her efforts in the Privateers' 1-3 week last week. This is the second time this season that Davenport earned a spot on the honor roll, as she also received the accolade on April 5.
Davenport totaled five goals, seven ground balls and nine draw controls over four games. In the 14-2 win over Bard on Saturday, the junior attacker scored four goals to help the Privateers snap their nine-game losing streak.
Senior goalie Meagan Golden (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and sophomore Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) (Rocky Point, N.Y.) currently rank in the top ten in the Skyline Conference in two statistical categories. Golden's 7.33 saves per game is second among the league's goalies, while Saporito's 3.42 draw controls per game ranks her fifth.
