Men’s Soccer Edged By Farmingdale State, 1-0

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Sept. 30, 2009) – Despite having five more shots on goal than Farmingdale State, 7-2, the Maritime men's soccer team lost a close game to the Rams, 1-0, Wednesday in Skyline Conference action. The Privateers fall to 6-3 (1-1 Skyline) after the loss, while Farmingdale State improves to 4-4-1 (3-0-1 Skyline).

 

The first half was scoreless, with the Rams holding a slight 5-4 advantage in total shots. In the second period, Farmingdale State scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute. Maritime put up six shots on goal in the second half, but all were saved, as the Rams went on to claim the 1-0 shutout victory.

 

The Privateers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 3, when they travel to take on Mount Saint Mary's. Action is set to get underway at 1 p.m. at the Blue Knights' Elaine and William Kaplan Athletic Field in Newburgh, N.Y.
