NEW YORK (Oct. 11, 2009) – The Maritime men's soccer team battled Skyline-opponent NYU-Poly to a scoreless tie Saturday night at Pier 40 at the Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. With the draw, the Privateers move to 6-5-1 (1-3-1 Skyline), while the Fighting Blue Jays move go to 5-7-1 (1-2-1).

 

Maritime goalkeeper Harris Papson (Flushing, N.Y./Francis Lewis) stood tall in net once again for the Privateers, holding the Blue Jays without a goal for the entire 110 minutes of play. Papson recorded his second shutout of the season with the tie.

 

The Privateers return to action Monday night, Oct. 12, for a Columbus Day home matchup against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Maritime's Reinhart Field.
