Christopher Watson (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) (Bayville, NY/Locust Valley) pitched all nine innings, striking out ten batters but gave up the only two runs of the game as the Rams of Farmingdale State defeated
Watson and the Privateers of Maritime College 2-0 in the first game of a Skyline Conference double-header on Saturday, April 1st in Farmingdale, NY.
Farmingdale scored their runs in the top of the sixth inning when Watson gave up a two out triple to Farmingdale freshman Joe Sorrentino (Shoreham, NY/Shoreham Wading River). Sorrentino would be brought home following a single by sophomore Keith King (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) who would also score later in the inning. Sophomore Rob Savarese (Syosset, NY/Syosset) received the win on the mound in game one pitching a five hit shutout.
In the second half of the double-header, Farmingdale defeated Maritime by a score of 11-3. Freshman pitcher
Larry Berger (Bronx, N.Y./Mt. St. Michael) (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael) had a much tougher outing than his season debut against Old Westbury where he allowed only four runs. In six innings of action, Berger gave up seven hits and nine runs, four of which were unearned.

Brenton Yockel (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) each finished the double-header with three hits in eight appearances, four in each game.
Saturday's losses to Farmingdale drop the Privateers to 0-6 both overall and in the Skyline. Farmingdale improved their record to 12-13 overall and 7-1 in the Skyline Conference placing them into a tie for first place.
Maritime's contest against Centenary College, scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 2nd has been postponed to an undesignated date later in the season. The Privateers next game will now be on Tuesday, April 4th when they travel to Dobbs Ferry, NY to take on the Beavers of the City College of New York in a non-conference single game. The game will be played on the home field of Mercy College scheduled start time of 3:30pm.
