Privateers’ 2024 Schedule Unveiled

2024 Schedule

THROGGS NECK, NY –
The Maritime College baseball team, which set a school record with 29 wins and reached the championship round of the Skyline Conference Tournament for just the second time ever last season, has announced its 2024 schedule.  The Privateers will begin the campaign at Montclair State on Feb. 20 before opening their home slate against Utica on Feb. 25.  Maritime is currently scheduled to play 36 contests, including eight home dates (15 games) at Reinhart Baseball Field.

On March 2, the Privateers face the first of four straight opponents from the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) when they visit Lehman.  Maritime also plays road games against John Jay (March 6) and Baruch (March 15), while hosting CCNY for a doubleheader on March 9.  The Privateers then head to Florida for their annual Spring Break trip.  Maritime takes on Williams in a doubleheader on March 21 before meeting both Framingham State and NYU the following day.  The Privateers conclude their stay in the Sunshine State with a March 23 matchup against SUNY Poly.

After hosting New Paltz in a single game on March 26, Maritime begins its Skyline schedule against St. Joseph's Brooklyn on March 30.  The Privateers will play a doubleheader against each of their 10 Skyline opponents for a total of 20 conference games.

Maritime travels to Eastern Connecticut for a non-conference tilt on April 1, then welcomes Old Westbury to Reinhart Baseball Field on April 6.  The Privateers hit the road for three consecutive twinbills against Mount St. Mary (April 7), Manhattanville (April 13) and Mount St. Vincent (April 14) before returning home to face FDU-Florham on April 16.

That matchup starts a five-game homestand, which also features Skyline doubleheaders against Merchant Marine (April 20) and St. Joseph's LI (April 21).  It will be the Privateers' first time facing the Golden Eagles since last season's Skyline championship.  Maritime then wraps up its non-conference slate at Ramapo on April 23.

Purchase visits Reinhart Baseball Field on April 27, as the Privateers will celebrate Senior Day during their final home twinbill of the season.  After traveling to Farmingdale on April 28, Maritime concludes the 2024 campaign with a doubleheader at Yeshiva on May 3.

Six teams will once again qualify for the Skyline Conference Tournament, which gets underway with single-elimination games hosted by the No. 3 and 4 seeds on May 8.  The No. 1 and 2 seeds receive a bye into the double-elimination portion of the event, where they'll be joined by the two first-round winners from May 10-12 on the home field of the highest seed.  Maritime has made it to the Skyline Tournament in each of the last 11 full seasons (not counting 2020, when the postseason was cancelled).
