THROGGS NECK, NY – The results of the Skyline Conference Preseason Poll are out, and the Maritime College volleyball team has been picked to finish eighth this season.  Manhattanville is the preseason Skyline favorite according to the league's head coaches.

After Manhattanville, Merchant Marine and Farmingdale were tabbed to place second and third.  The three tied for the Skyline regular season title last year, with Merchant Marine winning the Skyline Tournament.

Mount St. Vincent was fourth in the poll, followed by Mount St. Mary, Sarah Lawrence and St. Joseph's LI.  The Privateers came in next, ranking eighth in the preseason standings.  St. Joseph's Brooklyn, Old Westbury, Purchase and Yeshiva completed the selections.

Maritime begins the season by hosting CCNY on Tuesday, Sept. 7, then starts conference play four days later, when Yeshiva visits Riesenberg Gymnasium.
