Rowing Schedules Revealed for Spring 2018 Semester

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – On Tuesday the Maritime rowing team announced its spring 2018 schedule, which features six events over a six-week span beginning on March 31.

During the fall the Maritime men's rowing team competed in five events spanning from October 14 through November 12, while the women's team took part in three events throughout that span.

The spring season begins on the Schuykill River in Philadelphia as the Privateers will take part in the Murphy Cup, hosted by Temple University.

The month of April will begin with a second consecutive trip to the Keystone State of Pennsylvania as Maritime will participate in the River Cup on Lake Nockamixon in Quakertown, Pa. on April 7.

Following the back-to-back trips to Pennsylvania, Maritime will return to New York for the State University of New York (SUNY) Invitational hosted by Geneseo on Conesus Lake; the westernmost of New York State's 11 Finger Lakes.

A pair of local stops will take part next as the Privateers will head to the Housatonic River to take part in the Sacred Heart Invitational on April 21. That event will be followed by the Metropolitan Championships at Orchard Beach in City Island, N.Y. to close out the month of April on the 28th.

The final event of the spring term will be the New York State Championships, which is hosted on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, New York. Maritime returns to the New York State Championships for the first time since the Spring 2016 semester, after a year away in 2017.
