Live Stats & Live WebstreamTHROGGS NECK, N.Y. – Coming off of its season-opening victory on Saturday afternoon, the Maritime football team travels to Buzzards Bay, Mass. to take on the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers for the Eighth Annual "Chowder Bowl".

The Privateers enter today's game off a 30-0 win over the Maine Maritime Mariners, this was the first meeting between the Privateers and the Mariners.

This was the first time in program history that the team had back-to-back shutout wins, albeit spread out over two seasons. The victory was also the team's second-ever non-conference shutout, with the previous coming against Western Connecticut in 2011.

Mass. Maritime did not play last weekend and opens its season tonight against the Privateers. Last year, the Buccaneers finished with a 4-6 overall record. Included in the team's win-loss record was their 31-30 loss to Maritime on Reinhart Field a year ago.

All-Time SeriesMaritime has claimed six of the first seven Chowder Bowls to this point in the rivalry between the Privateers and Buccaneers. Maritime got back on the right track with last year's win after suffering a loss in the team's last trip to Buzzards Bay in 2013.

Season-Best, AlreadyIn just one game, junior
Brett McKinney (Westernville, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) eclipsed his season-best for rushing yard. Last week he accumulated 111 yards, while his previous season-best was 107 yards during his sophomore campaign in 2014.

Kameron Knight (Clayton, N.C./West Johnson) tied the single-game record of 3.5 sacks in one game last week versus Maine Maritime. Knight tied the record of 3.5 sacks set by Arlis Steel against Becker back during the 2006 season.

Off on the Right FootJunior punter
John Arny (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen) booted the ball on five occasions last week, accumulating 202 yard for a 40.4 yard-per-punt average. In 2014, Arny averaged 35 yards, while averaging 34.9 yards as a freshman during the 2013 season.

Matthew Murphy (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) is also off to a fast start with an average of 62.3 yards per kickoff with a pair of touchbacks last week. On average, that is 2.5 yards-per-kickoff better than his average a year ago (59.8).
