LAST GAME RECAPThe Privateers enter off of an 11-6 win over the SUNYIT Wildcats a week ago on Saturday afternoon. In the win seniors
Paul Grubb (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) and
Andrew Scalesi (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) picked up three goals apiece, while freshman
Colin McCoy (Glen Allen, Va./Greenport (N.Y.)) netted two of his own.
In goal, sophomore
Mike Arnold (Plainedge, N.Y./Plainedge) registered 13 saves to pick up the win. Senior
Anthony Ambrosio (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) with four caused turnovers, as well as sophomore
Jonathan Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) with three caused turnovers led the defensive unit. Ambrosio also picked up the first goal of his career in the victory.
Sophomore
Matt Hayes (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) led the team on faceoffs with 15 wins in 19 attempts, while scooping up 13 ground balls. As of games through this past Sunday, Hayes is ranked fourth in ground balls per game with 12.56. He is also ranked sixth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage, as he has won 72.8% of his faceoffs attempted this season.
SCOUTING THE RAMSFarmingdale enters with a 4-3 record on the season including wins in three of their last four contests. The Rams fell in their most recent contest on Tuesday to the Wesleyan (Conn.) Cardinals by the score of 13-2.
In the loss, the Rams got a pair of fourth quarter goals from Patrick Cowcer and Mike Strebel, with Tom Rotanz picking up the assist on Strebel's goal.
Nicholas Fasano started the game in goal and made eight saves while allowing the first seven goals. Thomas Fallon came on in the second half of the game and made six saves, while yielding six tallies.
ALL-TIME SERIESThe Privateers are 3-6 in the team's modern history against the Rams, with losses in five straight contests. The last Maritime win came in April of 2008, when the Privateers defeated the Rams by an 18-8 score.
In the most recent battle between the Privateers and Rams, Farmingdale upended Maritime by a 15-5 score in March 23 a season ago. In the loss,

Nick Barbuto made 13 saves in the first 55:08 of the game;
Mike Arnold came on for the final 4:52 and made three stops in cage for the Privateers.
HEAD-TO-HEAD UP NEXTAfter today's Skyline opener, Maritime will take to the road for its next three contests. The first of the three away games takes place on April 2 at 7 p.m. when the team travels to Union, N.J. to take on the Kean Cougars.
Farmingdale will have the full week off before its next game, which takes place on Saturday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Newburgh, N.Y. against Mount St. Mary.
