THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (February 8, 2014) – The Maritime men's basketball team will look for the season series split against the Purchase Panthers on Saturday afternoon with a 12 p.m. tip-off in Purchase, N.Y.
The Privateers come off of a 67-52 loss on Tuesday evening to St. Joseph's on the road. Maritime was led by freshman
Brendon Halligan (Durham, N.Y./Cairo-Durham) with 13 points including three three-point baskets. Juniors
Sean Corley (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall Academy) and
T'Vaughn Gibson (Freeport, Bahamas/Sunland Baptist Academy) had 12 and 11 points respectively to round out the top three scorers.
Purchase enters with a six-point victory over Mount St. Mary on Tuesday evening, as the Panthers knocked off the Knights by a 76-70 score. Joel Neri who collected 24 points and Justin Person added 14 points and seven assists to lead the Panthers.

The Privateers are 16-10 all-time against the Panthers, including the loss earlier this season to Purchase at Riesenberg Gym. On January 14 of this year, Purchase beat Maritime by the score of 84-46 despite 13 points from Halligan and 12 from Corley, as the only two players to reach double-figures in the contest.
