THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Maritime Football team wraps up the home portion of its 2014 regular season on Saturday afternoon when the team plays host to the Norwich Cadets for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Reinhart Field.

Maritime enters off of a loss last week to the Castleton State Spartans by the score of 30-24 in Rutland, Vermont.

The Cadets of Norwich enter on a four-game winning streak, which includes last week's victory over Gallaudet by a 19-9 score.

Head-to-HeadAll-Time SeriesNorwich enters having won five of seven all-time matchups against Maritime entering play this weekend, which includes wins in the last two meetings over the last three years. Two seasons ago, Maritime was scheduled to host the Cadets, but the game was cancelled due to Super Storm Sandy.

In last year's meeting, Maritime had its best passing effort of the 2013 season as the Privateers completed seven passes to then-seniors
Sean Belsky (West Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist ) and
Dan Fleischman (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) for a combined 93 yards.
Kyle Gardner (Amityville N.Y./St. Anthony’s) led the rushing attack with 95 yards and two touchdowns, while
Frank Laino (Rockaway, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) also had a touchdown in the 42-21 loss.

Kameron Knight (Clayton, N.C./West Johnson) led the defensive unit with 11 tackles, while also forcing a fumble.
Hugh O'Brien (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) had a fumble recovery, while also finishing the game with nine tackles, four of which were for a loss in yardage.
Nick Coffiey (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) also had nine tackles in the game.

Inauguration WeekendThis afternoon, Dr. Michael Alfultis will officially be inaugurated as the 11th President at SUNY Maritime College. Dr. Alfultis will be on hand at tomorrow's football game for the opening coin toss.

Senior DaySaturday will also be Senior Day at Reinhart Field, as the members of Maritime's senior class will be honored for their contributions to the program both on and off the field.

Chili Cook-OffThe parents of the Maritime football players will also be conducting the annual Chili Cook-Off as local firehouses from around the area will be serving up samples of their homemade chili.

At the end of their samples, fans in attendance will be able to vote for their favorite. The winner to be announced before the end of the game.
