        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Jan. 17, 2014) – On Saturday, the Maritime men's basketball team will play host to Skyline Conference opponent Sage at 2 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gym. Throughout the game, the Privateers will be helping to raise awareness for the Lone Survivor Foundation, in conjunction with the release of the major motion picture, Lone Survivor, in theaters on Friday.

        The Lone Survivor Foundation restores, empowers, and renews hope for our wounded service members and their families through health, wellness and therapeutic support. Its vision is to provide exceptional therapeutic and unique outdoor opportunities that optimize recovery and healing for affected American wounded service members and their families.
 
        At the core of the foundation's holistic approach of healing and restoration is a five day ranch retreat. These retreats are FREE to veterans and active duty military personnel, their spouses, children and/or key support system.

        The Privateers are urging all fans and followers in attendance to help raise awareness and to donate to the Lone Survivor Foundation. The basketball program has also reached out to local FDNY Firehouses, NYPD Precincts and Veteran Affairs offices in the New York area to raise awareness.
