BRONXVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2013) – The Maritime women's volleyball team traveled to nearby Sarah Lawrence College to take part in the SLC Invitational this weekend, but lost its four matchups against the local competition.
Junior
Mary Camano (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Truman) (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Truman) was named to the Invite's All-Tournament Team after leading the Privateer hitters with a .107 hitting percentage (6 kills & 3 errors on 28 attempts) and ranking third on the team with six kills. Junior
Charlotte Acklin (Lewes, Del./West Broward (Fla.)) (Lewes, Del./West Broward) had a team-high 17 kills and also picked up 21 digs and seven total blocks on the weekend. Senior
Alyssa Pourmonir (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area ) (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) registered 29 digs to lead Maritime over the four matches and junior
Christine McCormak (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) and freshman
Ayden Johnson (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) both recorded 13 assists.
Maritime will return to action on Thursday night, Sept. 26, when the squad will host York College (N.Y.) at 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
