        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Sept. 10, 2013) – The Maritime women's volleyball team will play host to non-conference opponent Medgar Evers Tuesday night. First serve between the Privateers and Cougars will be at 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
 
Acklin Named To Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll
        On Monday, Skyline Conference Assistant Commissioner Steve Haug announced the weekly award for women's volleyball and Maritime junior Charlotte Acklin (Lewes, Del./West Broward (Fla.)) (Lewes, Del./West Broward) was named to the weekly honor roll for her performance in last Tuesday's season-opening match at Lehman College.
 
        Acklin led the Privateers with seven kills in the 3-0 loss to the Lightning. She also recorded four digs on the night.

Inside The Series With Medgar Evers
        The Privateers haven't faced Medgar Evers since they played the Cougars twice in the 2010 season. Maritime hosted MEC on Sept. 23 and went the distance, but lost the nail-biter, 3-2 (16-25, 25-27, 25-14, 25-21, 10-15). The teams then met up again later in the season on Oct. 23, in a neutral site match and the Cougars came out with a 3-1 victory (20-25, 25-23, 23-25, 21-25).
 
        Since the 2004 season, the two teams have played each other nine times and Medgar Evers holds the series advantage, 6-3. The Privateers last defeated the Cougars in back-to-back meetings over the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
