        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Feb. 4, 2013) – The Maritime hockey team won all three of its games last week over Met Hockey Conference opponents Saint Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday, Fordham on Friday and Columbia on Saturday. The Privateers improve to 22-2 on the season and remain perfect in MCHC action with a 14-0 record.
 
        On Wednesday against STAC at the Palisades Mall Ice Rink, the Privateers actually fell behind by a goal early, but scored five times in the first period en route to a 15-1 victory. Senior captain Daniel Tyx (Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville East) (Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville East) led all players with five points (three goals and two assists), while five other players tallied three points for Maritime. All but three non-goalie players that dressed for the game had at least one point on the night. Freshman goalie Connor Graham (Midlothian, Texas/Midlothian Senior) (Midlothian, Texas/Midlothian Senior) earned the victory with nine saves on the night.
 
        Against Fordham at the Ice Hutch in Mount Vernon on Friday night, the Privateers scored first in the opening period when freshman KJ Paseka (Weston, Fla./Northfield-Mount Hermon) lit the lamp with 2:46 to go. Classmate Billy Kelly (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) doubled the lead with a power play goal in the second period when he deflected a shot from the point by junior Jeff Dolan (Floral Park, N.Y./St. Mary's) (Floral Park, N.Y./St. Mary's) past the Fordham goalie at 9:28. Two goals by sophomore Vinny Monfredo (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) in the third, including an empty netter after Fordham had scored, sealed the 4-1 victory for Maritime. Sophomore Harris Burger (Davie, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) (Davie, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) recorded the win with 31 saves.
 
        In the last game of the week at home at Parkwood against Columbia on Saturday night, the Privateers led 5-0 after one period of play and went on to win by the score of 13-1. Paseka and freshman Thomas Kirby (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Xaverian) led all players with five points, apiece (Paseka with three goals and two assists and Kirby with a score and four helpers). Burger started and played the first period, facing no shots, but earning the victory, before giving way to Graham, who made four saves to preserve the victory.
 
        Up next, the Privateers will play two games this weekend before the post season begins. They will host arch-rival and Met Hockey foe Kings Point on Saturday night, Feb. 9, at 9:15 p.m. at the Parkwood Sports Complex. Before the game, the team will honor its three seniors with a special Senior Night Ceremony. On Sunday, the team will travel to Dix Hills, Long Island, N.Y. to take on Suffolk County Comm. College at 1:30 p.m. at the Dix Hill Park Skating Rink.
