THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Feb. 14, 2013) – The Maritime hockey team has the busiest weekend of the season coming up and it's arguable the most important in program history! For the first time under head coach
Matt Garofalow, the Privateers have qualified for the ACHA Atlantic Regional Tournament and will be travelling to York, Pa., to compete for a chance to qualify for the National Tournament.
Maritime, which enters the tournament as the #7 seed with a 22-2 record, will be taking on #6-seed Penn State-Brandywine (17-11) in the first round of the ACHA tourney. It's the first time the Privateers will be squaring off against the Nittany Lions. Game time is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. on Friday night at the York City Ice Arena. The winner of that game will move on to the second round on Saturday with the game beginning at either noon or 12:15 p.m. If Maritime were to win again on Saturday, the team will move on to the ACHA National Tournament, which will take place from March 12-16 in Springfield, Mo.

Maritime will take on #4 seed Fordham on Sunday night at 7 p.m. and, the winner will play on Monday night at 6 p.m. for the Championship, also at the AmeriHealth Pavilion.
