STAMFORD, Conn. (Nov. 11, 2013) – The Maritime hockey team defeated East Stroudsburg University, 6-3, Friday night at Chelsea Piers Connecticut. The Privateers move to an even 3-3-1 on the season with the victory.

Nick Galli (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) and sophomore
KJ Paseka (Weston, Fla./Northfield-Mount Hermon) led Maritime with two goals apiece, scoring the last two goals of the first period and the only goals of the second period. Galli's second tally was a shorthanded goal.

Ross Freund (Westbury, N.Y./Chaminade) (Westbury, N.Y. / Chaminade) got the scoring going in the game with a tally just 7:26 into the opening period. It was assisted by classmate
Dillon Dolansky (Monroe, N.Y./John S. Burke Catholic) (Monroe, N.Y. / John S. Burke Catholic). The Warriors answered right back less than a minute later with a tally by Frank Callahan. Junior
Tanner McWain (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) put the Privateers back ahead when he lit the lamp off a pass by classmate

        Paseka and Galli alternated the next four goals to move the Maritime lead up to 6-1. In the third period, ESU scored twice on goals by Rob Serafino and James Milanesi, but the hill was too high to climb and the Privateers held on for the victory.

Harris Burger (Davie, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) (Davie, Fla. / St. Thomas Aquinas) earned the victory after 40 minutes of action where he made 13 saves and allowed just one goal. He was replaced at the beginning of the third period by sophomore
Connor Graham (Midlothian, Texas/Midlothian Senior) (Midlothian, Texas / Midlothian Senior), who made seven saves in 20 minutes.

        The Privateers return to action next weekend with two Empire College Hockey Conference games. The first on Friday night at Fairfield University at 9 p.m. at The Sports Center in Shelton, Conn. and the second on Saturday night at home against Albany at 9 p.m. at Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford, Conn.
