Privateers Swept By Culinary Institute On The Road Monday Night

        HYDE PARK, N.Y. (Oct. 21, 2013) – The Maritime women's volleyball team lost on the road to the Culinary Institute of America in straight sets (25-22, 25-8, 25-12). The Privateers fall to 2-23 overall, while the Steels improve to 11-4 on the season.
 
        Junior Sydney Carella (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) led Maritime with five kills on the night, while also picking up nine digs, and senior Alyssa Pourmonir (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area ) (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) led all players with 16 digs. Junior Christine McCormak (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) recorded 10 assists.
 
        CIA was led by freshman Emily Brown, who had a match-high 12 kills. Juniors Christian Bagby and Kristin McGinn split the setting duties and recorded 20 and 15 assists, respectively. Sophomore Cheyenne Langis had 10 digs for the Steels.
 
        Maritime is back in action tomorrow night, Oct. 22, when they take on John Jay in the final home match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gym.
