Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (October 13, 2013) – The Maritime women's soccer team fell on the road to the Farmingdale Rams on Sunday Afternoon by the score of 8-0.

 The Rams had a quick opportunity 40 seconds into the game, but sophomore goalkeeperÂ
Kristen Hoar (Buffalo, N.Y./Kenmore East)Â made a diving save to her left for the first save of the game.

Hoar made another diving stop towards the left post at the 41:25 mark of the period, the rebound came back out and went wide of the right post as the Rams were kept off the board.

After shooting low in the early going, Farmingdale attempted several shots towards the top of the net. The first was from the corner of 18-yard box that skimmed off the top of the crossbar. Six minutes later, the Rams attempted a shot from 15-yards out that was tipped just high of crossbar by leaping Hoar.

Farmingdale scored its first goal in the 32nd minute of play and then scored again in the 33rd minute. The first was after a scramble in front of the goal led to the ball being pushed near the post and then tipped in by the Rams. The second came off of a rebound after Hoar made the initial save.

The Rams scored again to increase its lead to three after a soft chip shot over Hoar. Farmingdale took their 3-0 lead into the halftime break

In the second half, Farmingdale put the game away with four more goals and ended the game with 61 shots.

Hoar ended the game with a season-best 20 saves, while playing one of the best games of her career despite being credited with the loss.

Maritime (9-7, 2-4 Skyline) will return to non-conference play on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. in Teaneck, N.J. on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University against Yeshiva. Farmingdale (8-7, 4-0 Skyline) will take on Purchase in its next game on Wednesday.
