THROGGS NECK, NY – The Maritime College women's soccer team honored its seniors prior to Friday's matchup with Old Westbury. The Privateers (3-7-1, 2-5-0 Skyline) were unable to celebrate with a win, however, as the Panthers (4-3-2, 2-3-1 Skyline) came away with a 3-0 victory at Reinhart Field.
After three early Maritime shots were off the mark, Old Westbury broke through for the game's opening goal in the 31
st minute. Stefany Donnelly had an attempt go wide and right to the foot of Camryn Volpe, who tapped it into the corner of the net for a 1-0 Panthers lead. Donnelly then picked up a goal of her own on a perfectly-placed header off a corner kick in the 68
th minute. In the 83
rd minute, Adriana Leon's cross curled into the goal to close out the scoring in the 3-0 Old Westbury win.
Leon's tally was her fourth this season. Volpe recorded her second goal of the year, while Donnelly found the back of the net for the first time in 2026. Zamira Mena Sequeira was credited with an assist on the second Panthers goal.
Old Westbury goalkeeper Kristen Gallagher (4-3-2) notched her third clean sheet of the season.
Devon Etienne (Garden City, NY) (2-4-1), meanwhile, recorded seven saves for the Privateers.
Maritime is scheduled to host Medgar Evers (0-4-0) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in its non-conference finale. It will mark the end of the Privateers' six-game homestand.
