THROGGS NECK, NY – The Maritime College women's soccer team continued its six-game homestand on Tuesday night against Mount St. Mary. In their first contest against the Knights (6-3-0, 3-0-0 Skyline) at Reinhart Field since 2023, the Privateers (2-5-1, 1-3-0 Skyline) suffered a 9-0 defeat.
Eva Garcia (Rockville Centre, NY) had an excellent scoring chance in the opening minute of the game, but Mount St. Mary goalkeeper Julianna Ewashko made the save. Evie Dowd then put the Knights on the board, the first of four Mount St. Mary goals in the first eight minutes. Angelina Robinson scored on a penalty kick in the 22
nd minute to increase the Knights' advantage to 5-0. Mount St. Mary added four more tallies early in the second half to account for the 9-0 final.
Kaitlyn Shotter finished with two goals and two assists for the Knights. Grace Morra also scored twice, while Dowd recorded a goal and two assists. Faith Welsh and Kathrine Edwards each tallied a goal and an assist for Mount St. Mary. Ewashko (5-2-0) played the first half in goal before giving way to Elizabeth Lennane. Both goalkeepers were credited with three saves.

Nicole Mejia (Garden City, NY) (1-2-0) notched five saves. Garcia, meanwhile, put four shots on goal for the Privateers. In addition,
Alexa Heise (Levittown, NY) nearly found the back of the net on a direct free kick in the 75
th minute.
On Saturday, Maritime returns to action with a 12 p.m. matchup against Sarah Lawrence (3-1-5, 2-0-1 Skyline) at Reinhart Field. The men's game between the Privateers and Gryphons will follow the women's contest at 3 p.m.
