Volleyball Falls Short In Two Matches At Skyline Tri-Match

        FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Sept. 22, 2012) – The Maritime women's volleyball team lost two conference matches at a Skyline Tri-Match hosted by Farmingdale State on Saturday. The Privateers dropped their opening match to the host Rams, 3-0 (25-4,25-5,25-12), before falling in their second contest to Old Westbury, 3-0 (25-6,25-9,25-12). The losses drop Maritime to 0-10 (0-2 Skyline) on the season, while Farmingdale improves to 6-3 (2-0) and the Panthers move to 5-10 (2-1 Skyline) after their two victories, each, on the day.
 
        Sophomore Sydney Carella (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) and junior Gina Campbell (Copiague, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) (Copiague, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) each had a team-high four kills over the two matches to lead the Privateers. Sophomore Tessa Jardine (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) (Valley Steam, N.Y./Waterford) led Maritime with 43 digs and six blocks on the day and junior Alyssa Pourmonir (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area ) (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) ended up with 12 assists.
 
        Maritime returns to action tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 24, when the Privateers welcome in the College of New Rochelle for a non-conference match. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
