BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. (Sept. 16, 2012) – The Maritime women's volleyball team competed in the Third Annual Maritime Classic this past weekend up at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy near Cape Cod. The Privateers dropped each of their three matches, losing to Maine Maritime on Saturday and then Kings Point and Mass. Maritime on Sunday. The squad falls to 0-7 on the season. Kings Point would go on to win the tournament.

Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) was named to her second-straight All-Tournament Team, as she earned a spot after a great weekend where she recorded 15 kills and 23 digs over the three matches. Sophomore
Tessa Jardine (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) led the Privateers in three categories over the stretch, recording 17 kills, 29 digs and five service aces. Junior-transfer
Alyssa Pourmonir (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area ) (Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) registered a team-high 29 assists.
Maritime is back in action tomorrow night, when the squad will take on Sarah Lawrence College in a non-conference affair. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. up in Bronxville, N.Y.
