Rifle Edged By John Jay Saturday For Big Apple Trophy, 2150-2122

        NEW YORK (Dec. 1, 2012) – The Maritime rifle team saw each of their shooters score over 500 points, but the Privateers were unable to defeat John Jay on the road Saturday in the Big Apple Trophy Meet in Manhattan.
 
        The meet featured just Smallbore shooting and junior Allison Lashmet (DeFreestville, N.Y./Columbia) (DeFreestville, N.Y./Columbia) led all shooters with a personal-best score of 560. Junior Michael Kellner (Baton Rouge, La./Catholic) (Baton Rouge, La./Catholic) was second on the squad with 530. Sophomores Joe Holomshek (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai) (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai) and Ed Green (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) rounded out the Privateers' scoring with 517 and 515, respectively.

        Maritime is done with the 2012 portion of the schedule and will return to the range after the winter break on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, for a road meet at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania right before the USP Area Sectionals the next day.
