        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 20, 2012) – The Maritime women's volleyball team hosted a Skyline Conference Tri-Match on Saturday at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium. The Privateers celebrated Senior Day with a special pre-match ceremony in the morning to honor four-year starter Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman). The program also held DIG PINK Day in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Collectively, the squad brought in $166.75 that will be donated to help find a cure for breast cancer.         On the court, Maritime was swept by both Mount St. Vincent and St. Joseph's. The Privateers dropped the first match to the Dolphins, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-7, before losing the final match, 25-13, 25-11 and 25-8, to the Golden Eagles. In defeat, Maritime falls to 1-19 (1-8 Skyline), while MSV ended the day 10-12 (4-5 Skyline) and St. Joe's, with two wins, improved to 17-5 (6-2 Skyline).
 
        Sophomore Tessa Jardine (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) and Sydney Carella (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) ended the day tied for the team lead with four kills, apiece. Jardine picked up 12 digs over the two matches, while Carella recorded a team-high 22 digs on the day. Romero led the Privateers with seven assists.
 
        Maritime is back in action on Monday night, Oct. 22, for the final home match of the season. First serve against the Culinary Institute of America is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
