THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 15, 2012) – The Maritime women's soccer and volleyball teams were both in action on the road Monday night – soccer was at Division II St. Thomas Aquinas and volleyball was at Skyline-opponent Purchase. Both squads lost their matchups.
 
        The soccer team lost a rain-shortened game by the score of 9-0. For the complete box score, click here. The Privateers registered one shot off the foot of freshman Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville). In goal, freshman Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) recorded 20 saves. The Privateers return to action on Thursday, Oct. 18, when they host Skyline-foe Farmingdale St. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Reinhart Field
 
        The volleyball team lost in straight-sets to the Panthers, 25-7, 25-21 and 25-15. For the complete box score, click here. Sophomore Tessa Jardine (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) led the Privateers with four kills, while also picking up 12 digs. Classmate Sydney Carella (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) (Greenville, N.Y./Greenville) recorded a match-high 22 digs. Senior Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) registered six assists. Maritime is back in action tomorrow night, Wednesday, Oct. 17, when the squad will welcome in Sarah Lawrence College. First serve will be at 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
