THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Jan. 4, 2012) – The SUNY Maritime Football Modern Day Record Book, which was first released after the 2009 season, has been updated to include this past 2011 season and is now available to view online by following this link.

The record book also contains a win-loss record for every single year that Fort Schuyler has had a football team, dating back to 1892. Throughout the years, the program has competed as a club team and briefly earned NCAA Division III status in the 1980's before being discontinued. In 2005, the program was reinstated under current head coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes and played one season as a club team, before again joining D-III for the 2006 season and thus creating the “Modern Day” of Maritime football.

The Privateers have fought their way back from a rough first two seasons in 2006 and 2007 to bring their overall modern record to 30-25 (.545). The squad completed its third-consecutive winning season this past 2011 campaign, finishing with an 8-2 mark and narrowly missing out on its second-straight postseason appearance.

Below is a look at the records that were achieved during the 2011 season:

He ends his career with a program-best 3,085 rushing yards. Spanopoulos also set a new record with six 100-yard games and five consecutive 100-yard games. He improved his career rushing touchdown record to a program-best 46, while also improving his career records for total yards (3,818), points (296), and total TDs (48).
