THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2011) – The Maritime women's volleyball team will be taking on the Yeshiva Maccabees in the Privateers' first match of the 2011-12 Skyline Conference season Thursday night at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium. Despite playing at Maritime, the Privateers will be the away team for the contest. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m.
Inside The Series
This will be the fifth meeting in the past four years between the two schools, with the series tied 2-2. Last season, the Maccabees came to Riesenberg on Oct. 10, 2010, and took a 3-2 decision (25-23, 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-9). Then-sophomore Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) registered a double-double with a match-high 15 kills and 25 digs.
