THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Feb. 8, 2011) – Maritime senior Giovanni Hurley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Middle College High) was named to the Skyline Conference men's basketball weekly honor roll for his performances in the Privateers two home games last week. This is the sixth time that Hurley has landed on the honor roll this season and he was also named the Skyline Player of the Week on Jan. 3.
Over two games last week, Hurley averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds. He recorded a double-double with a game-high 26 points and 12 rebounds against Mount Saint Mary.

The Maritime men's basketball team will look to bounce back from its current three-game losing streak as they return to the court tonight for a Skyline Conference match up against Sage. The game is set to start at 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
Inside The Series
Earlier this season on Jan. 6, 2011, the two squads met at Sage's Kahl Gymnasium in Troy, N.Y. The home team took the victory in the first meeting of the season, 77-70.
During the 2009-10 campaign the Privateers swept the season series, 78-58 on Jan. 14, 2010, at Riesenberg, and 84-71 at Sage on Feb. 11, 2010. The overall series is in favor of Maritime, 2-1, as Sage recently joined the ranks of Division III basketball and the Skyline Conference for the 2009-10 season.
