Basketball Weekend Preview: Privateers Travel To Scranton For Radisson Invitational

        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Nov. 18, 2011) – The Maritime men's basketball team will be taking a trip to the Keystone State this weekend for the Radisson Invitational Tournament in Scranton, Pa. In their first game, the Privateers will be taking on the hosts, the Royals of the University of Scranton, Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Long Center.
 
        The first game of the tournament will pit Centenary against New Paltz at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the second day of action will have the third-place game at 2 p.m. and the championship game at 4 p.m.

        For those unable to make the trip to Scranton for the tournament, the University of Scranton Sports Information Department will be providing live stats from all four games. The live stats can be accessed by clicking here and then selecting the appropriate game.
 
A Look At Tonight's Matchup
        This will be Maritime's first meeting with the Scranton Royals in program history. Last year, the Privateers and Royals shared one common opponent, Kings Point. Maritime defeated the Mariners, 66-65, in the season-opener, while Scranton split the season series with USMMA, winning 75-68 at home and losing 86-66 on the road.
 
A Look At The Series With Centenary And New Paltz
        The Privateers have faced Centenary College seven times in the past 10 seasons and own a 5-2 record over the Cyclones. In their last meeting during the 2008-09 season, Maritime won, 74-59, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.
 
        The program has not faced New Paltz, dating back to at least the 2001-02 season. The two teams shared one opponent during the 2011-12 season, Mount Saint Mary. Maritime lost both meetings with the Blue Knights, 77-49 on the road and 69-57 at home, while the Hawks defeated MSMC, 91-88, in their season-opener.
