Volleyball Ends Season With 3-0 Loss At Culinary Monday Night

        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2011)  - The Maritime volleyball team ended the 2011 season with a 3-0 loss on the road to the Culinary Institute Monday night up in Hyde Park, N.Y. in Dutchess County. The defeat dropped the Privateers' record to 4-15 overall on the season, while Culinary improved to 11-1.
 
        Maritime was led by freshman Clarissa Silveria (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains), who tallied a match-high seven kills, while junior Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) had a team-best 12 digs. In her final collegiate match, senior Natalie Jackson (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) filled in at setter and had 11 assists to go along with seven digs. Junior Lauren Johnson (Lansing, Mich./Holt) (Lansing, Mich./Holt) was solid all around, registering six kills and eight assists.
 
        Culinary's Corrine Williams had a team-high six kills, while Christian Bagby tied for the match-high in digs with 12. Kristin McGinn had 17 assists on the night.
 
        The Privateers improved their win total by four victories over the 2010 season under first-year head coach Liz Praetorius and placed ninth in the Skyline Conference with a 1-8 mark during conference play.
