NEW YORK (Oct. 20, 2011) – The Maritime women's volleyball team was defeated on the road Thursday night by John Jay, 3-0. The scores of the match were 25-18, 28-26, 25-15. The defeat drops the Privateers to 4-12 on the season, while the Bloodhounds improve to 2-21.

Jerrica Romero (Bronx, N.Y./Herbert H Lehman) (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman) recorded a match-high nine digs and chipped in with five kills. Junior
Claudette Killian (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Lima Christian School) (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Lime Christian School) registered 10 assists.
John Jay was led by sophomore Martina Hot, who led all players with nine kills. Freshman Katherine Bonilla recorded a match-high 22 assists and tied Romero with nine digs.
Maritime returns home this weekend when they play host to Sage and NYU-Poly in a Skyline Conference Tri-Match. The Privateers will take on the Blue Jays of NYU-Poly at 11 a.m. before Poly and the Gators of Sage battle at 1 p.m. The final match of the day will pit Sage against Maritime and will begin at 3 p.m. All matches will be played at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
