BRONX, N.Y. (Jan. 8, 2011) – Two players had double-double performances for the Maritime men's basketball team, but it wasn't enough to defeated Mount Saint Vincent, as the Dolphins came out on top, 76-57, Saturday afternoon at CMSV's Peter Jay Sharp Athletic and Recreation Center. With the loss, the Privateers fall to 5-7 overall (3-4 Skyline), while Mount Saint Vincent improves to 11-2 (6-2 Skyline).

Senior Giovanni Hurley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Middle College High) (Brooklyn, N.Y./Middle College High) recorded a team-high 20 points and brought down 10 rebounds, while classmate Quamel Lyerly (Inwood, N.Y./Lawrence) (Inwood, N.Y./Lawrence) scored 12 points and also had 10 boards. Junior Mike McSloy (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) chipped in 11 points and junior Sam Porte (Harlem, N.Y./H.S. for Math, Science & Engineering) (Harlem, N.Y./H.S. for Math, Science & Engineering) registered seven rebounds.

The Dolphins had four players score in double figures, including junior Cody Gauvard, who had a game-high 22 points. Junior Mark Waite recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Dino Johnson (14 points) and sophomore George Naldjieff (11 points) rounded out the double-digit scorers.

Maritime returns to action on Monday, Jan. 10, when the Privateers play host to Skyline opponent St. Joseph's. Tipoff against the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium.
